Our Last Date Night Before the Baby Comes Tomorrow!

We were able to squeeze in one last date night tonight thanks to Aaron's parents who took the kids for a couple nights.  We went to Applebees and split the appetizer sampler and a dessert.  Then we went to see the new Pirates movie in 3D.  It was a fun night.

Well, our next post will have a picture of our new baby boy!  Wish us luck with the c-section!

Preschool Graduation

Dallin had his preschool graduation tonight.  It was really cute.  All the kids sang songs and they each had a little speaking part.  The first half Dallin just stood there during the songs with his hands in his pockets.  He did his speaking part and then the rest of the program he sang and did the actions to the songs.  It was really cute.  They had graduation caps and got to walk up and get a diploma.  After the graduation we went to Yogotogo to celebrate.

My Other Finished Projects

I started doing these various projects after we found out we were having a boy and have just been working on them during nap times.

Baby Legs.  I got socks from Target for like $2 a pair and turned them into those popular baby leggings that sell for like $12 a pair.

Car Seat Tent

Two receiving blankets.  They are only 1 layer of flannel like what you would buy at the store, but they are a bigger size.  The size of the store bought receiving blankets are so small they are basically useless.

Quilt for his crib

I crocheted around the edge of this blanket and 2 matching burp cloths

Shirts for the kids to wear the first day in the hospital.
The picture on Aiden's is supposed to be a monkey.

Appliqued onesies

With all of these plus the diaper bag from yesterday, I have been very busy.  I will be happy to have a break from the sewing machine and spend the time cuddling our new little baby.

It is Finally Finished!

I have been working on this diaper bag for probably close to a month and a half.  My mother-in-law helped me get the pieces cut out, and then I figured out the rest by myself.  This was my first time sewing something using a pattern since junior high.  I am so excited it is done.  I was starting to worry that it wouldn't be done before we had the baby.  It turned out so much better than I would have guessed since I am very new to the whole sewing thing.  Here it is . . .

and here is what the inside looks like

It is really roomy and has pockets all over.  I am seriously so excited about this diaper bag and I can't wait until I get to use it!

Amanda's Senior Pictures

On Saturday Amanda had Kassie and I do her senior pictures.  They turned out so cute!  Here are some of the ones that I took.  If you are friends with Amanda on Facebook, you can look at more including some that Kassie took.  Kassie's turned out a lot better than mine.  We had a really fun time!

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation Amanda!

Baby update

I am now a little over 38 weeks!  I am getting so excited to see our little one.  I only have one more project I need to finish before he gets here.  I have been going to see the doctor weekly for about a month now.  On April 26, I went for my check up and the baby's heartrate was high and didn't go down.  My doctor sent me to the hospital that afternoon for a non-stress test.  The test went really well.  The heartrate went up and then back down twice in twenty minutes, which is what they like to see.  When I went to my appointment yesterday, the heartrate was up again.  It slowed a little bit as the doctor was listening.  I go back next Tuesday for my last check up!  We will be having this baby May 27 around 7:30 - 8:00 in the morning!  I asked my doctor how big he thought the baby would be and he is guessing less than 8 lbs.  Dallin was 8 lbs 3 oz, and Brooke was 8 lbs 1 oz.  I was worried this baby would be like 9 lbs and the newborn clothes I bought him wouldn't fit.  I have also started making meals to put in the freezer to have after the baby is born.  I have 2 done, and have about 4 more to go!

On Saturday, my mom, Kassie, and I went with Amanda to take her senior pictures.  I had Kassie get a couple of me and my pregnant belly.  I'm not into the whole big maternity photoshoot thing, I just feel like I am so huge, and don't really need photographic evidence.  So here I am at 37 weeks and 5 days.

I will post Amanda's senior pictures that I took tomorrow.

Potty Training Update

So, back in March we tried potty training Brooke.  She did really well for about a week and then lost interest.  A week ago I decided to let her try again only this time wearing underwear instead of pull ups.  She has been doing AWESOME!!  In the past week she has only had 3 accidents.  The last 2 days have been completely accident free.  If she keeps it up, by this weekend she will be able to go pick a toy at the store!  It has been so nice to not have to change diapers!  She even stays dry duing naps and through the night(although we still have her wear a diaper at night just in case).  I will be enjoying the next week and a half of NO DIAPERS before the baby comes!

Birthday Recap

On Friday the 22nd, Aaron took the day off so we could have a fun day with the kids.  We picked Dallin up from school and then went to In-n-Out for lunch.  Aaron and I don't really like it, but Dallin has been wanting to go since they put one in Centerville.
Dallin was distracted by an airplane

After lunch we took the kids to Boondocks.  We let them do the mini bowling, play arcade games, and play in the kiddie cove.  We were there for a good couple of hours and they had a lot of fun.

Games

Dallin won like 150 tickets from this game.  All by himself.

After Boondocks, we went home and the kids rested before we went to our next activity.
Pizza and games at Chuck E Cheese with Grandpa Steve, Grandma Carrie, and Amanda

Then we went to my parents for presents and cake and ice cream.  Nate, Kassie, MeMe, Pa, Grandma Farr, and my uncle Jeff all came over for that.

They had just been in the hot tub, so they have wet hair and are in their pajamas.

The next day, the 23rd, was Brooke's actual birthday.  She opened her presents and later I took her to lunch.

We went to Cutler's and she pretty much just ate her cookie for lunch

I took some pictures of her.  We are getting some done professionaly in June, but I wanted an offical 3 year old picture of her.

She also got another cake.

Dallin's official birthday was the 27th.  He opened presents in the morning before Aaron went to work.  Dallin went to school and I went at the end to do a little spotlight and to bring treats.  After dinner Aaron took him back to Boondocks because I signed him up for their birthday club, so he could do all the activities for free.  When he got home from Boondocks, he got his own birthday cake.

Dallin's official 5 year old picture.

In his birthday crown from school.

For our last birthday event, Friday April 29, we had Grandpa Doug and Grandma Vickie over for pizza and dessert.  The kids got to open their presents also.

Well, I think that is it.  We are all partied out now!
