December 1-20

We decorated our tree

Dallin is finally potty trained

We made salt dough ornaments

Aaron turned 32. We had dinner at Tucanos. Yummy!

I made a load of cookies for Aaron's work

The kids played in the snow

We have had deer in our backyard

Halloween

We had a fun Halloween party with my friends

The kids went trick-or-treating. Dallin had fun running around with kids a few years older than he is. Brooke insisted on walking the whole time. She also carried her bucket and her wand the whole time too.

November

We had Amanda over for the BYU/Utah game. It was a lot of fun. BYU won! Yay!

We had dinner with 2 of Nate's mission companions who are already back. It was fun to hear the stories.

I made and decorated a Lightning McQueen cake for my cute nephew's birthday. He LOVED it.

Pumpkin Patch!

Yesterday was our 3rd annual trip to Packs Pumpkin Patch in Farmington to pick our pumpkins.
It was so much fun. The kids love the hay maze and being able to run through the pumpkins. Next weekend we will carve them!

A Halloween Craft

I saw the idea for this in a magazine and thought I would try it out.
I bought a black halloween tree at Target.
Then I bought some glass ornaments at Roberts.
Then I filled the ornaments with orange things and drew jack-o-lantern faces on them.
I used ribbon to hang them on the tree

Mini M&M's

Sugar sprinkles

Puff balls

Torn cardstock

All finished!

*Just a tip, don't use anything too heavy inside the ornament, or it will crash to the floor sending orange colored sand and glass everywhere! (Not that I know from experience or anything)

Take me out to the ballgame!

Last night we took Dallin to his first baseball game. It was so much fun.
We got hot dogs, peanuts, popcorn, and sodas. The promotion of the night was free hats, so all three of us got Bees hats. The game didn't really hold Dallin's attention, but he still had a good time. Luckily, we were able to sit him with an empty seat in front of him. He wouldn't have been able to see anything, and he probably would have bugged the poor person in front of him. We didn't stay the whole time, because it was getting late, and Dallin was getting restless. I think he enjoyed it, especially being alone with us. In case you were wondering what we did with Brooke, she was sleeping over at my parents' house.

The smile on his face is completely priceless!

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is a delicious recipe adapted from MRS. FIELDS BEST EVER COOKIE BOOK. I just tried it this afternoon. You should definitely try this one out!

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups (packed) dark brown sugar
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
2 sticks (1 cup) salted butter, softened
3 large eggs
1 cup creamy peanut butter
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

-Preheat oven to 300 degrees F
-In a medium bowl, combine flour, soda, and salt. Mix well with a wire whisk. Set aside.
-In a large bowl, blend sugars using an electric mixer set at medium speed. Add butter and mix to form a grainy paste, scraping the side of the bowl. Add eggs, peanut butter, and vanilla, and mix at medium speed until light and fluffy.
-Add the flour mixture and mix at low speed until just mixed. Do not overmix.
-Drop by rounded tablespoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet, 1 1/2 inches apart. With a wet fork, gently press a crisscross pattern on top of cookies. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until cookies are slightly brown along edges. Transfer cookies immediately to a cool, flat surface with a spatula.
-As a variation, add 2 cups coarsely chopped semi-sweet chocolate bar or 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips to the flour mixture, then bake as directed.

*Note-I only added 1 cup chocolate chips, 2 cups seemed like a lot. I didn't do the crisscross pattern on my cookies because the dough was a little to wet to hold the pattern. If you want the typical look of a peanut butter cookie, you might need to add a little more flour.

On Friday

Aaron and I are taking Dallin to see his first baseball game!

We are so excited! I will make sure to take some pictures and post them this weekend.

Camping

On Friday night, we decided to camp in the backyard. Dallin was so excited.

Here is Aaron putting up the tent.
The kids "helped"

The required campfire and smores

Brooke looking outside. She was loving the tent. She wandered around the inside for like thirty minutes before we finally got her to settle down and fall asleep.

Dallin was asleep soon after this picture was taken. He was so tired.

Good Night!

It was a fun night. We woke up at about six in the morning to thunder, lightning, and pouring rain! Luckily Aaron put the rain cover thing on the tent before we went to bed or we would have woken up soaking wet! This weekend we are sleeping in the tent again at Aaron's parents house. Dallin is way excited to go "camping" with his cousins!

Davis County Fair

On Friday we went to the Davis County Fair. We went last year and the kids loved it. I took them again this year. The kids love all the fun things that they can do, and I love that it is FREE! Here are some pictures.

Brushing a cow

Brooke and a goat.

Notice how Brooke only has one pink scrunchie?
She fed the other one to the goat.

Did the goat spit it out? Nope!

In the sandbox

On the racetrack(hehehe)

This is Dallin after he let go of his balloon.

Dallin won these vampire fangs at one of the booths.
Looks like Edward Cullen has some competition!
