Project 52: Date Night Date #2
Last weekend for our date night, Aaron decided we should list all of our requirements/wants for our future house. We had a crazy weekend and this was a nice low key date. It was fun to see what things we want that are the same and what we want that is different. It also gave us an opportunity to just sit and talk to each other. Usually when we talk it is after the kids have gone to bed. I am talking and he is falling asleep. It was a nice change. ;)

Project 52: Date Night #1
On Friday we started Project 52: Date Nights. You commit to one date night a week and you take turns planning it. Most dates will happen at home and will not cost a lot of money.
For our first date we worked on a new blog background(do you like it?) Aaron did most of the design work. I gave him different ideas of what I wanted. Strawberries were on sale and I had some chocolate chips, so I made chocolate covered strawberries to snack on while we were working. We also had some cream soda. It was nice not to have the TV on. Usually date night consists of watching a movie. This was a nice change. We decided we take a turn every other week. I am excited to see what Aaron comes up with this weekend.

Camping
We went camping for the first time as a family over labor day weekend.
Mostly it was fun.
Getting the fire going so we could cook dinner
Tin Foil dinners
They were so yummy!
Then we walked around and explored the campground.
When we got back to our campsite we made smores
The next day we went a little "hike".
These dogs belonged to the camp host. They were the nicest dogs and the kids loved them.
Brooke found this snake. Luckily it was already dead. Gross.
We drove into Heber/Midway and found a park. The kids played and we had a picnic.
Then we drove into Park City and went to the outlets.
When we got back from Park City we walked to this creek.
The kids had fun throwing rocks into the water. The dog would run into the water and retrieve the rock.
The last morning was really cold. Here is Brooke all wrapped up sitting in front of the fire.
Some tips for next time.
Get a separate tent for the kids. Brooke pretty much slept on top of me.
Go earlier in the summer, or bring more blankets.
Overall, we had a really good time. The kids absolutely loved it.

New Bed!
My aunt called the other night to ask if we wanted my cousin's old bed.
They dropped it off Wednesday night and Thursday night Dallin got to sleep in it.
He was so excited!
He loves it so much!
Thanks R, A, and H!

Meet the Teacher, First Day of School, and Ask a Girl to Homecoming
On Monday, Dallin went to meet his preschool teacher. Up until then, he was nervous, but excited. After he went to meet his teacher he wasn't nervous at all. His classroom is so cute. His teacher had made each one of the kids a bag for their papers. She also had them color a picture of themselves.
Wednesday was his first day of school!
Like that? He's winking!
I dropped him off and he seriously didn't care that I wasn't staying with him.
After I picked him up I took him to 7-11 and bought him a slurpee to celebrate.
I asked him what his favorite part of school was.
He said, "playing".
I asked him if he had a favorite friend.
He said, "the girls are my favorite friend".
We are so in trouble when this kid gets to high school. Remember the make out sesh at the frat house?
Oh and to top off his first day at preschool, he asked a girl to the homecoming dance!
All ready to go ask!
Aunt Amanda came to pick him up.
Roses! How sweet.
He was asking this girl for one of Amanda's guy friends.
She said he did a really good job.
What a fun day for Dallin!

An Assembly, Discovery Gateway, and Date Night
Last Friday, we started the day with a high school assembly.
By the way, there is nothing like taking your 2 kids to your old high school to make you feel really old.
Anyway, we went to watch Aunt Amanda dance. The kids thought the assembly was really fun.
Brooke waiting for the assembly to start
The Vykelles
Amanda-Vykelle President!
After we watched Amanda dance, we went to meet some friends at Discovery Gateway.
The kids had so much fun! Thanks M for the free tickets!
After dinner we dropped the kids off at my parents' house for a sleepover.
We went to the Bountiful Temple
And then stopped to get Panda Express for dinner.
It was a really busy day, but it was really fun!
